TLDR: Come to a free workshop on April 23, and I’ll help you figure out the next best step for pursuing a dream. Whether you are working on something already or just starting to explore ideas, this is for you. RSVP here. Reader, Like millions of Americans, our family has been following Artemis II—NASA’s first crewed lunar mission since the 1970s—the launch, the live (and recorded) videos on board the ship, the Orion capsule’s landing, and most recently, the astronauts’ reflections following this journey-of-a-lifetime around the Moon and back home again to Earth. Watching it all, I’ve felt 100% confirmed in my late-in-high school decision NOT to pursue becoming an astronaut after all. 😅😅 (At the time, I felt intimidated by the math and science, but today, I’m not sure I’d have the stomach for it.) But something even more valuable than that realization has met me in this spectacular event. Did you happen to watch Christina Koch’s definition of what it is to be a crew?
“A crew is a group that is in it all the time no matter what, that is stroking together every minute with the same purpose, that is willing to sacrifice silently for each other, that gives grace, that holds accountable. A crew has the same cares and the same needs, and a crew is inescapably, beautifully, dutifully linked.” From where we sit in our spacious homes and outdoor spaces, we can hardly imagine what it must have been like: Hurtling through space at thousands of miles per hour. Facing the unknowns of deep space. Living and working in a 330 cubic ft. capsule (the size of a moving van) for ten days with three other people whom your life depends on. But what if we thought about it that way? Consider what it would look like to live with that kind of dependence, attentiveness, and sacrificial care for one another, here on Earth. So, I’ll ask it again: Who is your crew? Who are the women in your life who also have big dreams, who nod knowingly when you share about how hard it is to believe God would give you this dream? Who is there for you and believes in you, especially when you struggle to believe in yourself? Who celebrates with you when you face down fear and take the next step even when you can’t predict the outcome? These are the ones who remind you who you are. They remind you WHOSE you are. And they know the value of this kind of camaraderie because they’ve been there too; they ARE there right now, pursuing their own dreams, and learning to trust God in the process. They’ve faced disappointments, the goals that seem unattainable, the walls that appear insurmountable. And they lived to see a new day. To return to the Lord. To remember the passions He gave them. And to remind you of the same. Do you have that kind of crew? If not, or you want space to process how to get there, come this Thursday, April 23rd, to a workshop: The Next Best Step for Pursuing a God-shaped Dream. Give yourself the gift of time and permission to focus on where to go from here. We’ll consider the hurdles that get in the way, how to overcome them, and provide space for you to discern what comes next. Will you be there? RSVP here. Also this week: If the idea of a “crew” resonates with you, this week’s Devoted Dreamers episode is a natural next listen. In it, I'm talking about something I see in nearly every woman I coach: the tendency to downplay her abilities and wait to feel ready before taking a step forward. The problem is that rarely do we ever feel ready. Listen to this week’s episode (Apple | Spotify) and be reminded of three things NOT REQUIRED for you and the dream on your heart. You don’t have to:
Because our God uses imperfect people to carry out His perfect plan. And we can rest easy in His sovereignty and care. And your crew? They already believe in you, even when you forget to. Not sure where to go from here? Your next step is to register for the workshop and show up on Thursday, open to hearing what God has for you. As always, I am with you in the dream, P.S.
