Hi Reader, If you’ve ever wondered about sitting down with me to get some clarity about your dream, I have 5 spots open for Clarity Calls in the next few weeks. Scroll down to the bottom of this email and grab one before they're gone! For the last few weeks, I’ve introduced you to women whose dreams are in bloom today because they chose to take small, faithful steps forward, even before they could fully see the possibilities. If you’re not all caught up, click to read Megan’s, Terri’s, or Michelle’s story. Each of them are celebrating visible progress on their dreams because they’ve surrounded themselves with a community of women (and a coach—me!). Doing so provided greater clarity and courage to put their dreams out into the world. Today I want to close out the Dreams in Bloom series by sharing a part of my own story…and what led to the dream that is currently my day-to-day reality. I’m harkening back a decade in my life to demonstrate what’s possible for you when you begin taking sincere action in the direction of your dream. It all started 10 years ago, in the summer of 2015. My first-born was six months old. I’d found my way out of the newborn fog and into new rhythms, and I was finally able to entertain creative ideas again. That decade-ago dream was to create an online course and community for single Christian women. I’d written down tons of ideas and had taken a few steps to bring it to life. But I second-guessed myself like crazy, which led to cycles of getting inspired, then feeling discouraged, and then blaming myself for being the holdup. The shining moment in this part of my dreamer journey was the mastermind group I joined with three other Christian women who were pursuing their own businesses and creative ideas. Every few weeks we connected on a call to pray for each other, share what we were learning, encourage one another, and provide accountability for the projects we said we wanted to start (and finish). The calls with those women were a balm for me. They slowed me down, challenged me, and helped me get honest about my struggles so that I could face them head-on and get the support I needed. I recently found notes from a call we had that summer, still one year out from starting my podcast (it wasn’t even on my radar at this point). Check out what I wrote: "I’m working through fear about stepping forward. Struggling with approval seeking. I need prayer to fight through the roadblocks and take God at His word that if He’s put this [dream] on my heart, there is a reason, and it’s not so much about success or failure." That version of me had no idea what God was already preparing behind the scenes. While I felt like I was floundering, He was giving me strength to continue. Needless to say, my dream about Christian singles didn’t go the way I hoped. What could have been deemed a “failure” was the very thing our kind and generous Father used to lay the groundwork for what would come next: More than 300 podcast episodes published over the next nine years. A coaching business. A thriving community of dreamers making progress on their dreams. It’s more than I could have imagined a decade ago. But other people's success can be hard to imagine for yourself. Because of the tension of holding a dream you can’t shake but also being stuck in the fog of fear or uncertainty. If that’s you, please hear this: There is no perfect way to step into a dream. No one has it all figured out; we just begin. We must begin. That’s the secret to how you start. Clarity comes from taking the next step, and the next one, and having people by your side to help you walk in it (and remind you not to give up!). That's also the secret to being able to look back 10 years and see progress. Take a second now and remember who you were 10 years ago. (Really...do that right now and see what I mean. You are where you are today because of the decisions you made in 2015.) Reader, I know what it’s like to desire clarity, courage, and to feel less alone in your ambitions. I’ve certainly been there, so if you’re ready to say, “I’m done waiting for the perfect circumstances,” let’s take the next step together. Here’s how: I’ve opened up my calendar for five dreamers to sit down for a 30-minute Clarity Call. We’ll close the door on the old stories that have held you back and help you make 2026 the year you finally commit to your dream. The last time I had a call like this, I got this follow-up email: "I can see why [my friend] has appreciated working with you, and I am thankful that she connected me with you. I will continue to pray and listen for God's direction in my life. I feel like He used you to speak to me." It's conversations like these that can help you see the forest for the trees, get beyond the fear, and find a way to shift into creative action. And I'd love to help you do that. Sign up for your 30-minute Clarity Call and together we’ll work through what’s standing in the way of your dream, take a look at your mindset, and get an action plan in place so you know what to do next. And something else that differentiates me from other coaches: Prayer. We'll take it all to the Lord because He is the source of our strength. Calendar dates are open now for December and January, and I’ve got one saved just for you. I’m only offering this to the 700 people on my email list, so, grab your spot here. Once those five appointments are booked, they’re gone. I can’t wait to see your dreams in bloom next year! As always, I am: With you in the dream, Merritt P.S. Not ready for a Clarity Call? That’s okay. Maybe your next step is to grab a copy of my free 7-day devotional, Silence the Voice of Self-Doubt, at merrittonsa.com/devo. |
